Collaboration with our university presses on recent EU regulations
Today we’re highlighting some of the contexts and places when we #TeamUP with our university presses.
In recent years, publishers operating in and exporting to Europe have had to contend with significant regulatory shifts that affect everything from how books are produced and sold, to how digital content is accessed, and what paper-supply chains look like.
Three regulations that stand out are EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
While each targets a different aspect of the business of publishing, together they present complex compliance, reporting and operational demands. As a major sales, marketing and distribution agency for international university presses, our focus during these regulatory shifts, therefore, has been to help our UP clients navigate these regulation changes with as little disruption as possible.
Most recently, we have been trying to unpick the particular nuances of the ever-shifting beast that is EUDR. As we all prepare to meet this latest challenge which is as much logistical as it legal, we are providing regular updates regular updates and advice to our university press clients.
