This year marks the 50th anniversary of National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT)’s dedicated service to the emergency medical sector. Now with a worldwide network of over 2600 training centres, NAEMT has become a renowned pillar of medical education through their authorship of EMS titles and courses under Public Safety Group.
Spanning across topics such as firefighting and pre-hospital care, NAEMT’s comprehensive courses are designed for those in professions such as paramedics, firefighters and emergency medical responders.
NAEMT works with established organisations such as the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma to ensure that resources remain relevant, practical and evidence-based with a focus on current guidelines. NAEMT courses go beyond traditional learning to encourage the individual to develop their own critical skills to best prepare students for emergency situations.
Titles such as Prehospital Trauma Life Support and Advanced Medical Life Support have become centrally used in the education of paramedics and emergency medical responders around the globe.
The tenth edition of PHTLS: Prehospital Trauma Life Support teaches and reinforces the principles of rapidly assessing a trauma patient using an orderly approach, immediately treating life-threatening problems as they are identified, and minimizing delays in initiating transport to an appropriate destination.
Hear from a PHTLS student:
“Your curriculum is more up-to-date than competitor Fire/EMS publishers and offers a variety of platforms (e-reader, online, etc.)” – Michael Heffner, EMS/Fire Student
PHTLS is also available in French; German; Portuguese and Spanish.
