Rattan Lal Hangloo is an honorary Vice-Chancellor of the Noble International University, at its USA campus, and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at SRM University, Amravati, Andhra Pradesh. Formerly, he was a Professor and the Head of History department, at Hyderabad Central University and Vice-Chancellor, University of Kalyani, West Bengal and Vice-Chancellor University of Allahabad. His Publications include, Agrarian System of Kashmir (1846-1900); State in Medieval Kashmir; Kashmir before the Accession and after 2022; The Inquiries in Medieval India: Religion Society Culture and Polity; and the edited volumes such as, Situating Medieval Indian State; Approaching Islam; New Themes in Indian History: Art, Politics, Gender, Environment and Culture; History of Science and Technology in India: Exploring New Themes; Indian Diaspora in Caribbean. He has published over 250 papers in national and international journals. He has been decorated with several awards; include, Senior Fulbright Fellowship, DAAD Fellowship and Foundation Maison des sciences de l'homme (FMSH).
